The East Rio Arriba SWCD Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Program engages local youth to be involved in conservation by applying technology to the importance of Natural Resources in our communities.

The 2023 YCC season, the crew inventoried, took field notes, created maps and reports to assess Natural Resources and Natural Resource Concerns within the district. Some examples, but not limited to the following found below:

New Mexico Youth Land Grant Program

The East Rio Arriba SWCD applied for the 2023 New Mexico Youth Land Grant Program grant proposal and was awarded $60,000 to hire local youth to work with Land Grants in Northern New Mexico to inventory appurtenances within Land Grant Boundaries.
