To serve the people, by taking available technical, financial, and educational resources whatever their source, and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of soil, water, and related resources.

The East Rio Arriba SWCD resulted from the consolidation of the Abiquiu-Vallecitos, Espanola Valley, and Coyote-Cañones Districts.

The focus of ERASWCD addresses important resource management matters. These include soil and water quality and quantity, grazing management, wildlife conservation, timber/forest management, land use planning, acequia support and public education efforts.
